My “Water Level Low” light won’t quit blinking, even though

the Bowl is full and I have pressed the Reset button.

6-Pod and 7-Pod AeroGardens (except Space•Saver 6 model)
Your AeroGarden senses when the Bowl is low on water by means of a small float inside the "Fill to Here" tube that magnetically trips a sensor when the water is low. Once in awhile the seal on the float will crack, take on water and sink. If this happens it will cause the “Water Level Low” light to flash continuously, even when the Bowl is full and you have pressed the Reset button.

You can test to see if the float has sunk by lifting the Bowl up off the Base. If the light stops blinking when the Bowl is lifted, then the float has sunk and needs to be replaced. To request a free replacement float, please call Customer Service at 800-476-9669. Until your new float arrives, check the water level by eye every couple of days and refill it when the water level falls more than an inch below the "Fill to Here" mark. Instructions for installing the float are found below.

If the light did not stop blinking when you lifted the Bowl, then the problem is something else. Please contact AeroGrow Customer Service at 1-800-476-9669 and an agent will help you troubleshoot further.

Space•Saver 6
If the mechanical water level indicator seems to be stuck in either the red or green position and is no longer accurately indicating when the water is low, chances are that plant roots have grown into the mechanism, jamming it. If this has occurred, you may either remove the roots from inside the indicator, or just keep a watchful eye on the water level and be sure to refill frequently.

Important Note About the Reset Button: The Reset button is actually a two-week timer that is tied to the “Add Nutrient” light. When you press it, the “Add Nutrient” light will quit blinking and will be reset to come back on again in two weeks. Because the water needs to be full when you add nutrients, the “Water Level Low” light comes on automatically at the same time as the “Add Nutrient” light, to prompt you to make sure the water level is full. However, this is the only circumstance when pressing the Reset button resets the “Water Level Low” light. The “Water Level Low” light is normally controlled by the water level itself. (Water low, light goes on - water high, light goes off - when all is functioning normally).

If you have pressed the Reset button on your AeroGarden trying to clear the blinking “Water Level Low” light, you will have inadvertently reset your “Add Nutrient” light timing every time you pressed it.

To get the Reset button back in synch with when your nutrients are actually due, you will need to determine the calendar date when you last added nutrients. If you don't remember, look back to the planting date that you wrote on your Tending and Harvesting Guide when you planted your Seed Kit, and count forward in two-week increments from the initial planting date. At the next feeding, fill the water to the mark, add your two nutrient tablets and press the “Reset” button (even if it’s not blinking). This will resynchronize the “Add Nutrient” light with the time that the nutrients are actually due.

Float Installation Instructions

It is not necessary to empty the water from the Bowl while replacing the float.

1) Unplug the AeroGarden.

2) Remove the Bowl from the Base.

3) Look inside the Bowl for the “Fill to Here” tube. This tube is removable and the float is inside. Remove the tube by turning it counterclockwise and lifting it out.

4) Look for the float either inside of the tube, or sunk in the water at the bottom of the Bowl. Discard the old float, but do not discard the “Fill to Here” tube itself.

5) Place the new float, magnet-end down, into the “Fill to Here” tube, and twist the tube clockwise until it locks into place.

6) Replace the Grow Surface into the Bowl and the Bowl back into the AeroGarden. Adjust the water level to the “Fill to Here” mark.

7) Plug the AeroGarden back in.

Your “Water Level Low” light will now stop blinking.
